Financial Assistance for Your Transition to College
Several Austin organizations offer scholarships and vouchers to help qualified students pay high school equivalency (HSE) exam fees. Contact an Adult Education advisor for more information.
Peierls Scholarship
The $1,500 Peierls Foundation Scholarship ($750 per semester) is open to students who have received their HSE credential through ACC’s Adult Education program during the year prior to the scholarship deadline. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, and books and may be used for any program at ACC that leads to a certificate or associate degree. Students who have almost completed HSE testing may apply, but the scholarship is not awarded until notification of successful HSE credential completion.

Applicants for the Peierls Foundation scholarship must present a valid Social Security card or photo ID. Recipients must:

- Enroll in a one-hour College Success course.
