Registration for Fall 2024 is now CLOSED. The application will reopen for Spring 2024 on October 7th.
What is Level Up?
The Level Up program gives eligible adult learners the opportunity to begin taking college-credit courses leading to an Occupational Skills Award(OSA) in an in-demand career field, paid for by Career Pathways. The program also covers the cost of any required textbooks/materials for the OSA courses.
Are you eligible?
To participate in the Level Up program, you must:
- Already have a high school diploma or GED from any country (documentation required)
- Be a Texas resident (living in Texas for at least 12 months)
- Reside within the ACC Service Area
- Not be TSI-complete (if you are complete in one area, that is okay)
- Not be on an F, B, or J visa
- Not have a college degree from the United States (college degrees from other countries are OK)
- Have completed ESL 4 (ESL students only)
What’s the process?
Step 1 – Attend Orientation
You must first complete the Career Pathways application. Within the application, you must upload a picture of your photo ID (driver’s license or passport). Upon completion of your application, you will be contacted by the program coordinator to be scheduled for an in-person orientation. At orientation, you will learn more about the program and take a short reading test. Enrollment into the program is contingent upon scores from this test.
Step 2 – Registration
As a new Level Up student, you will select an Occupational Skills Award (OSA) to pursue from the list below. The Level Up coordinator will work with you to complete the registration process. The cost of your OSA courses and the required textbooks/equipment for those courses will be paid for by Career Pathways. ACC students are also eligible for a free Capital Metro Green Pass.
Step 3 – Study, Sleep, Class, Repeat!
Finally, this is your time to shine! As you begin this new chapter as an ACC student in the Level Up program, keep in mind that you are expected to:
- Check your ACC email regularly
- Arrive to/join class on time
- Actively participate in class
- Complete assignments according to deadlines
- Attend support classes/workshops
If you are unable to meet these requirements, you may be ineligible to continue in the program.
